Explore the otherworldly, moonlit jungle using neon paint and materials that glow under a blacklight to create lush, glowing jungle scenes and creatures. 2- 2 hour classes for age 6-12. Class is March 19th & 26th 4:30-6:30 PM Only $65! Project 1: Moonlit Waterfall Use acrylic paint and multi-media collage to create a glowing jungle landscape. Artists will create a painterly, layered waterfall landscape, then add flowers, leaves and insects using neon painted paper and create three-dimensional, glowing mushrooms with plastic eggs and Model Magic. For an additional layer of fun, add a string of lights to illuminate the mushrooms and flowers in the nighttime scene. Project 2: Fluorescent Forest Floor Artists will use the included handouts to draw a fantastical forest floor including mushrooms, flowers and leaves and insects. Neon cake tempera will be layered with watercolor to create rich, glowing colors that can be enjoyed in normal light or enhanced under a blacklight. Project 3: Glowing Firefly Canvas Trace and paint a bright and beautiful firefly using acrylic paint on canvas. Artists will use the included templates to draw a firefly on the canvas, then paint with their choice of acrylic paint colors. Then they will use white paint to add highlights and neon yellow paint to create the firefly’s iconic glow that will shine brightly under blacklight. A splattering of neon paint adds an extra layer of glow to the nighttime sky.
