Play Labs

Our Play Labs feature large and small motor skill activities. Art and Sensory invitations to play plus fun centers that change and upgrade each month.

Play Labs are suitable for up to age 10, but those 8 and under will enjoy the space the most.

​

Our Play Lab centers include: 

  • Discovery Center, light tables, science experiments and physics exploration. (Coming soon)

  • Blocks Center, magnatiles, ramps, construction and large block

  •  Wednesdays: Art Center, variety of art supplies, paper, easels, process art invitations to create. 

  • Thursdays: Sensory exploration: sensory bins and experiences rotate weekly and include wet and dry activities designed to delight children of all ages.

  • Dramatic Play: Themes rotate every two weeks and vary from grocery store play, construction site, pet shop or ice cream shop, just to name a few....

 

Toddler play area:

ages 0-3 ONLY, climbing equipment and special sensory activities just for littles. (no small parts)

Play Area Policies

 

Safety Rules:

  1. Our play area is socks-only. No bare feet or shoes permitted (children AND adults)

  2. Our toddler-area is STRICTLY for children 3 years and younger. 

  3. No running in the play area.

  4. Use slides feet-first, one person at a time.

  5. Use toys as they are intended. Throwing, abusing, or misusing toys or play equipment won’t be tolerated.

Art Box Play Lab Rules

  1. Please be respectful. Be respectful of our play houses, toys, supplies, play equipment, and most importantly, your fellow patrons. Please do not bring toys from home into the play area, and please don’t remove any toys from the play area that belong there.

  2. Please be kind. Children and adults will be kind, respectful, and conscious of the safety of all patrons. Rough play or bullying will not be tolerated.

  3. Please keep it clean. All snacks, foods, and uncovered drinks should be eaten at tables on the Party-side ONLY. Covered drinks (coffee, bottles, sippy cups, etc.) are OK in the play area (at a table,please). 

  4. Please be aware. If your child is struggling with our safety rules or needs your attention, please tend to them. Staff-members will enforce safety-rules as necessary but are NOT babysitters. Please note and abide by all posted signage and policies.

  5. Please be well. Patrons should not enter the facility with a known, contagious illness and Art Box Studio reserves the right to ask patrons who are sick to leave the premises if their illness poses a risk to other users of the facility. Please use the available hand sanitizers before entering the play area and wash hands after eating and every restroom visit.

  6. Please be courteous. Change diapers ONLY in our bathroom facilities. We have a changing table in the restroom available for your use.

 

Those unable to comply with these policies, other posted signage, AND all verbal requests from staff will be kindly asked to leave the premises (without a refund).

Can I drop off my child to this play space?

We require parents supervise their children when playing in our play space. We are not able to babysit or supervise your child without you present.

🎨 Art at Wonder Academy – Parent FAQ

Q: Is art included in the elementary school program?

Yes! At Wonder Academy, we believe creativity is a vital part of learning. All elementary students participate in daily core art classes as part of their regular school day. These classes are process-based and integrated with other subjects like science, literacy, and social studies.

Q: What’s the difference between core art and specialty art classes?

Core art happens daily and is included in tuition. It’s designed to give every student a strong foundation in creativity, technique, and self-expression.

Specialty art classes are optional after-school or weekend workshops that focus on fun, themed experiences like Adopt a Pet, Wizards & Wands, or To Infinity and Beyond. These are separate from the school day and open to both Wonder Academy students and the broader community.

Q: Do I have to sign my child up for specialty classes?

Nope! Specialty classes are completely optional. They’re great for kids who want to explore more advanced techniques or enjoy extra time creating. If your child already gets their art fix during the day, you’re all set!

Q: Are there discounts for enrolled students?

Yes! Wonder Academy families often receive a discounted rate for specialty classes as a thank-you for being part of our school community.
